The results from our recent survey of 1,205 Los Angeles County likely voters demonstrate public demand for public solutions that ensure affordable, reliable, and fast internet service is available for everyone.

Key Findings

  • 85% of likely voters support local government guaranteeing everyone access to reliable, fast, affordable internet — higher among Black voters (93%) and Hispanic voters (89%).
  • 84% support local government initiatives such as free Wi-Fi throughout the community.
  • 87% agree reliable and fast internet is necessary for critical tasks.
  • 56% use their home internet frequently for work, but only 37% consider their home internet access excellent.
  • 56% face a 'significant burden' or 'somewhat of a burden' in paying for home internet.

Methodology

Survey conducted June 7-16, 2023 among 1,205 representative Los Angeles County likely voters. Administered online in English and Spanish. Margin of error +/-2.8%.
